This star pillow is a sturdy cushion designed for meditation and sitting in circle. kapok is a sustainably harvested hypoallergenic material from trees.

Kapok comes from the Ceiba tree, a gigantic tropical species of tree native to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Northern South America and tropical west Africa. Large seed pods fall naturally to the ground, where they are collected, cracked open & the fine wispy silky hairs (kapok) are harvested. They help to spread the seeds by catching them a ride in the breeze. Ceiba trees are easily cultivated, especially in deforested areas due to the large quantity of seeds they produce.
Star Stuff Merkaba was born to channel some fast fashion waste into a second life as functional, sensory art. To raise awareness around fast fashion and the environmental impacts of the garment industry, 10% of all proceeds will go towards organizations dedicated to this shared mission.

Why upcycled materials?
The U.S. alone sends about 21 billion pounds of textile waste to landfills every year.
The fashion industry produces 10% of all humanity's carbon emissions,
is the second-largest consumer of the world's water supply, and pollutes
the oceans with microplastics.
Why jeans?
2 billion pairs of jeans are made every year from cotton, a thirsty, chemical-reliant crop.
Every pair of jeans requires over 2.2 million tons of chemicals & almost 700 gallons of water.
Harmful synthetic dyes, labor-intensive washing/rinsing cycles and chemical finishing
processes exploit workers in 3rd world factories.
What is a Merkaba?
The star tetrahedron is a sacred geometry shape representing masculine & feminine energies.
Translated as "light body vessel" it's your t into consciousness in meditation.
